Jerry K. Bunch Instructional Technology Specialist
Jerry
has been with the Macon State College ETTC since July 2007. He
has earned an engineering degree from the University of
Tennessee, a Master's in Education from the University of
Southern Mississippi, and brings over 20 years of military and
manufacturing experience to his classroom instruction. He holds
Georgia teaching certificates in Math 6-12, Technology Education, Engineering (TS),
and Educational Leadership, and has taught middle school science and
math, high school math, technology, and engineering sciences.
Jerry is married to Susan
Malone, Associate Dean of Education at Mercer University. Their son
Jackson is studying sociology in the doctoral program at the University
of Georgia. Their daughter Ellie graduated from Mercer with a degree in Elementary Education
and teaches Pre-K in Bibb County Public Schools.
At the GaETC in Atlanta, Jerry
demonstrated how to use Google Sketchup to teach Slices and
Shadows, Unit 7 in the 7th grade math GPS framework. Sketchup is free to download, and is an invaluable instructional and
assessment tool for middle and high school math teachers. Follow the
